The robot requires three AAA batteries while the controller requires two LR44 batteries to operate. This set also comes with two infrared (IR) robots, Impulse with its dangerous disc and Royal Pain with its havoc hammer, and two mini IR remote controls. It’s probably a bit unnecessary for the Dial Of Doom sheet to be there. I did avoid sticking the thin laminated Dial Of Doom sheet in the middle of the wall as I want to keep it safe from bending. This is a great size and it fits nicely onto our Ikea coffee table! It is also quick and easy to dismantle the arena. When this is fully assembled, it measures 50cm by 51cm by 10.5cm. The board features an authentic looking floor plan, just like the television programme. These barriers make a great realistic screen! There are no sharp corners around the barriers. The barriers are soft to touch and easy to fold and bend. I love that they have improved on the material of the barriers, unlike the Battlebots arena panels we had last year. ![]() Setting up the arena may require adult help for the assembly of the walls onto the fold-out game board and soft plastic barriers but they are easy to fold and insert. This well-designed Hexbug Robot Wars Arena is surrounded by low walls all around with four transparent barriers to protect the audience from any debris and along with a stick-on Dial of Doom stand. This action-packed arena is the perfect place to pit the world’s most notorious robots against one another! It is suitable for aged eight and above. 1, 2, 3 let the battle begin! Now you can recreate your own battle in this replica Hexbug Robot Wars Arena using the remote-controlled robots.
